Test Results

We flew/tested the HQ 2m Delta kite in a wind range from about 8 to 12 MPH. In this wind range the kite flew steady. The instructions state the wind range of 5 - 24 mph. We estimate the recommended/realistic and safe wind range to be about 5 to 22 MPH. We recommend attaching tails to the kite at the higher wind range to improve stability. FYI: Around 18 MPH sand starts to move/blow across the beach where we test our kites.

The dimensions of the kite are 79 inch x 39 inch. (6.5 ft wingspan) 

The kite requires no modifications to the bridle. Assembly is quick and easy. Just insert the Fiberglass spars into the side pockets. Make sure the leading edge spars are pushed all the way down towards the back of the kite. The instructions are clear to understand using both text and diagrams.

The sail is made of ripstop nylon. The sail is hemmed for durability. There are three tail attachments.

The moderate sail area of this kite lends itself best for visual appeal at a height up to about 150 to 300 feet. The Tie Dye and Wavy Gradient designs are very colorful in the sky.

Summary: At a price of $33.99, the HQ 2m Delta is a strong value and highly recommended for the purchase of a long term collector. Recommend upgrade to braided dacron line. The HQ Delta does not compare with orther delta kites on the market. The construction of the kite is for long term and many years of flight. Spars are heavy duty with heavy duty spar pockets. The fabric is well stiched and solid construction. If you are looking for a Delta the HQ Delta 2m is our number one recommended delta kite for both experienced and biginners.
