Test Results
We flew/tested the NewTech 6 foot Dragon Delta kite in a wind range from about 7 to 12 MPH. In this wind range the kite flew mostly steady. Note: This delta variation has no keel, it relies on its long tail for stability. The enclosed instructions state the wind range to be 5 to 18 MPH. We estimate the recommended/realistic and safe wind range to be about 6 to 14 MPH.
FYI: Around 18 MPH sand starts to move/blow across the beach where we test our kites.
Kite Contents: 6 foot Dragon Delta kite, three hundred feet of 50 pound test line on a plastic hand winder, clear vinyl storage bag, instructions.
The dimensions of the kite are 72 inches wide x 122 inches high.
The kite requires no modifications to the bridle. Assembly is easy. Insert the cross strut and attach the flying line to the bridle.
The sail and tail are made of appliqued ripstop nylon. We were very impressed by the quality of the applique for the sail and tail. The sail is hemmed for durability.
The meduim sail area of this kite and long tail lends itself best for visual appeal at a height up to about 100 feet. The design is very colorful in the sky.
Summary: At a club member price of $28.80, the NewTech 6 foot
Dragon Delta kite is a good value for children and adults.
