Test Results

We flew/tested the Tie Dye Power Sled 24 in somewhat gusty 15 MPH wind. In this wind range the kite went up easily  and flew steady. The kite also flew very steady in light and moderate winds of 6 to 14 MPH. The tag description states the wind range to be 5 to 20 MPH.  We estimate the recommended/realistic and safe wind range to be about 6 to 16 MPH.  FYI: Around 18 MPH sand starts to move/blow across the beach where we test our kites.

The dimensions of the kite are 95 inches wide x 44.5 inches high with a 23 inch droque. The matching colored droque also combines as the storage/carry bag. The droque also has two carry handles.

The kite requires no modifications to the bridle.  It is a fixed bridle.  Assembly is quick and easy.  Attach your flying line to the bridle. This kite requires 150 pound test flying line. Note:  Initial assembly requires you to undo the factory-tied daisy-chained bridle. The bridle was daisy-chained backwards which required us to untangle the bridle by hand which took several minutes. Premier Kites may want to inspect the bridle assembly process at the factory.

The sail is made of ripstop nylon.  The sail and 3 keels are hemmed for durability. There is a 1inch dacron edge binding around the 6 cells for additional
reinforcement which also improves stability in flight. 

The large sail area of this kite lends itself best for visual appeal at a height of at least 200 feet or more.

This kite provides strong lift/pull and thus is suitable for attaching moderate sized windsocks and other similar laundry to the flying line.  There are also 2 tail attachments on the sail.

Note: Remove the plastic description tag from the droque before flying to prevent the tag from acting like a rudder which can cause its line to twist and thus impact flight stability .

It is a safe kite to fly (in the recommended wind range) since there are six flexible fiberglass rods which form the frame. It makes a nice a travel kite which can be placed in a large suitcase without fear of breaking the kite.
 
Summary: At a club member price of $49.89, the Power Sled 24 is an excellant value for experienced adult kite fliers.  If you desire more pull/lift than the Power Sled 24, try the Power Sled 36. Sleds are one of the most stable kite designs and we highly recommend this kite. Warning particular attention should be followed concerning long term storage in the drogue bag. The fiberglass rods tends  to take the shape of the storage bag. Please (long term) store the kite out of the bag.
